Hike at Upper Javalina Trail for 2021-10-23
Hike Leader, Nate Crook
With all hikes, please review the distance and elevation gain to decide if this hike is right for you.
The Upper Javalina Trail is a trail on the eastern end of the Tortolita Mountains that utilizes the Wild Burro Trailhead located at the Ritz-Carleton at Dove Mountain. The hike starts up a sandy wash then turns north-west behind the Ritz into the Tortolita Mountains before exiting onto a road just west of the Ritz, and finishes with a walk up the road. The section of the hike in the mountains does have a number of elevation changes as the trail crosses a few small gorges.
