Description

  • Pontatoc Ridge is a ridge on the front side of the Catalina Mountains. It shares a trailhead with Finger Rock Canyon Trail, but rather than going up the canyon, the trail goes west, through a wash, climbs the wall to the ridge then follows the ridge for a short distance. This hike allows for fantastic views of the Foothills. Just beyond the end of the trail is an old mine shaft for those interested in “bushwhacking” for a couple hundred yards.
  • Length: 4.1 mile out and back
  • Elevation change: 1,400 feet
  • Duration (including travel): 3.5 to 4 hours
